 Just Theatre House stages “Welldone Sir” for mental health awareness   Lagos, Oct. 13, 2024 The Just Theatre House on Saturday in Lagos staged “Welldone Sir”, a play written by Ola Awakan, which addresses mental health in men.   The play was performed in commemoration of the World Mental Health Day, usually celebrated every Oct. 10.   ”Welldone Sir” beams light on the different challenges men are usually confronted with, which lead to depression, suicide, drug addiction and other social vices.   The 50 minutes play tells how men should be appreciated by their spouses, family members and colleagues as often as possible, putting into consideration the huddles they are exposed to in their quest to be responsible individuals.   The play is about the death of Tunmishe, said to be a responsible man and a role model to many while alive.   Tunmishe’s friends felt guilty for not probing into the reason he was not attending social functions just before his death as they later discovered that he

Maj. Stephen Okefi, the hospital’s Head of Department (HOD), Opthalmology, said that the Chief Medical Director (CMD) 68 NA Reference Hospital, Col. The Egg Sellers and Distributors Association of Nigeria (ESDAN), Lagos, has appealed to the  federal and state governments to further fund the egg industry for a better wellbeing. The ESDAN National President, Mrs Olaide Graham, made the appeal while speaking at a programme organised to celebrate the World Egg Day in Lagos. Nigerian Navy strengthens bilateral relations, repairs Benin Republic ship

The Nigerian Naval Dockyard Ltd. (NDL), has repaired, refurbished and handed over a ship belonging to Benin Republic to strengthen bilateral relations and improve maritime security. The Admiral Superintendent of NDL, Rear Adm. Abolaji Orederu, at the handing over ceremony on Wednesday in Lagos, added that the initiative was to enhance the capability of a friendly navy.   A filmmaker, Seun Dania, says the use of Computer Generated Images (CGI) has helped in enhancing visual quality of Nigerian movies. Dania told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos that CGI had helped Nollywood movies to compete globally with visually stunning films. “Over the years, the use of CGI in Nollywood movies has gained traction which has led to significant improvements in the movies we produced. “CGI has vastly improved in Nollywood and this has helped the latter to compete with other movies globally thereby expanding our culture on a global scale. “It also helps in depicting epic fictional movies because CGI helps to create the environment and scenario for such genre of movie to thrive,” he said. Dania, who is also a film producer, however, cautioned filmmakers not to rely much on CGI, noting that it can overshadow the emotional depth of storytelling. NGO donates books, pays tuition fees for students in Lagos

  The First British Charity Home Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), on Monday donated books and paid tuition fees for 10 students in a school in Lagos. The founder of the NGO, Mr Evans Uchendu, said the aim of the donation and payment of school fees was to ensure the less privileged secure a future in education. The school that was visited was Faith Reward International School, Ijesha, Lagos. Uchendu while speaking with journalists said there was hardship in the country, hence the visit to the school. “We decided to visit this school considering the hardship and economic crisis going on in the country where people are struggling to feed and some children are being sent out from schools  due to lack of payment of school fees. “We decided to pay their school fees with other levies with some writing materials. “For now, we are paying school fees for 10 students. “As I always say, I believe so much in securing the future of the kids educationally and paying the school fees
