  CLEEN Foundation calls for more transparency, accountability and respect for the ACJA/L Mr Salaudeen Hashim, Programme Director, CLEEN Foundation. Dec. 13, 2024  The CLEEN Foundation, an NGO has called for more transparency, accountability and respect to the Administration of Criminal Justice Act/Law (ACJA) for the benefits of the citizens especially women. Mr Salaudeen Hashim, the foundations Programme Director on Thursday said that both state actors and citizens did not find the law completely satisfactory with the kind of services they had garnered from these stakeholders. He said this at the CLEEN Foundation Media parley on Gender, Accountability, and Transparency in the Implementation of the ACJA/L Regime which held at CLEEN Foundation Conference Hall, Ojodu, Lagos State.  Naval Dockyard to include civilians in 2025 Admiral Superintendent Sports Competition Lagos, Dec.10, 2024 Rear Adm. Bolaji Orederu, Admiral Superintendent of Naval Dockyard Ltd., says he will include youths of Victoria Island and Ikoyi axis in the next Admiral Superintendent Sports Competition. Orederu made the pronouncement at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Admiral Superintendent Sports Competition holding at the Sports Complex, Naval Dockyard Limited, Victoria Island, Lagos, from Dec.10 to Dec.18. ReelzzNewzz24 reports that the competition featured eight events which include Basketball, Volleyball, Five-Aside Football, Badminton, Chess, Ludo, Table Tennis and Snooker. Maternal Mortality: Foundation donates supplements to LASG The non-governmental organisation, Azuka and Ify Ubani Foundation, has donated Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) to the Lagos State Ministry of Health to support 3,000 pregnant women and nursing mothers. The donation, in collaboration with Well Eagle Health Services, is to improve maternal health outcomes. Speaking during the presentation on Monday, Dr Victor Ubani, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the foundation, said the initiative aims to reduce infant and maternal mortality rates in the state. “It is hard enough for women to carry their babies for nine months, delivering healthy babies can also be difficult. “That is why we are supporting the efforts of the government because we want healthy babies,” he said. NOWA distributes food items to 100 widows to mark 59th anniversary Lagos, Dec.1, 2024 The Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA), Western Naval Command, on Saturday distributed cash and food items including rice, vegetable oil, spaghetti among others to 100 widows and orphans at Navy Town, Lagos State. Mrs Josephine Oamen, Chairman, Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA), said that the gesture was done to celebrate the 59th anniversary of the association.
