Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Promotes Unity Through Football

  The Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, on Tuesday, said it was committed to promoting the unity of Nigeria through sports, especially football. Sunday Ossai, the president of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Lagos Chapter, said this on Tuesday in Lagos at a press conference to announce a football tournament involving the 20 Local Governments of Lagos State. Protest: Make Nigeria Productive – Lanre Arogundade Tasks FG

  The Executive Director of the International Press Centre, Mr Lanre Arogundade, has called on the Federal Government to tackle the challenges that hinder Nigeria’s productivity. Arogundade spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  on Wednesday in Lagos. He reacted to the nationwide protest by the organised labour. NAN reports that Nigeria Labour Union and Trade Union Congress on Wednesday began a nationwide protest over increase in petrol price, devaluation of the Naira and increase in fees by schools owned by the Federal Government, among others. Group Tasks FG On Fixing Refineries As Solution To Subsidy Removal

  Yiaga Africa, a Civil Society Organisation, has urged the Federal Government to urgently fix all local refineries  to tackle the effects of subsidy removal on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as fuel. Mr Mark Amaza, Senior Communications Officer,  Yiaga Africa made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday. He reacted to the nationwide protest by the organised labour. Food festival ‘ll Promote West African Cuisines – APCN

  The Association of Professional Chefs Nigeria (APCN) says Nigeria will host the fifth edition of the West Africa Food Festival (WAFFEST) to promote West African cuisines. Its National President, Mr Paulinus Okon, disclosed this on Thursday at a news conference in  Lagos . The theme of the food festival is “Preserving West African Flavour: The Chefs Roles in Sustainable Tourism”. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that APCN established WAFFEST in 2017 and since then, Ghana has hosted the festival three consecutive times, followed by Liberia. Okon said that WAFFEST was scheduled to hold from Aug. 9 to 14, in Lagos, to also promote cooking skills. He said that the festival would encourage food tourism, culture, music, workforce development and promote committed chefs.
