UTME 2024: 82 PWDs Write JAMB Examination At Lagos Centre

Eighty-two candidates living with disabilities on Tuesday sat for their United Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) at the Lagos centre. A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Correspondent, who visited the centre at the Distance Learning Institute, University of Lagos, reports that the examination started at exactly 8.00 a.m. NAN reports that this year at the Lagos Centre, 62 visually-impaired persons; four candidates with Down Syndrome; five with Autism; six with Dyslexia; three with Cerebral Palsy; and two with Ocular Albinism sat for the examination. NAN reports that the UTME for People With Disabilities (PWDs) began on Monday, April 22 and ended on Tuesday, April 23. The candidates sat for Use of English which is compulsory and three other subjects of their choice from the range of other subjects.   2024 Inter Command competition: CNS expects records to be broken Lagos, April 23, 2024 The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Vice Adm. Emmanuel Ogalla on Monday said that he expected several records to be broken as he flagged off the 2024 Inter Command competition in Lagos. According to Ogalla, a total of 560 Nigerian Navy personnel, representing seven commands would compete in three events, which are: Football, Volleyball and Tug of War. Reelzznewzz24 reports that the competition would hold from April 22 to April 24 at the Nigerian Navy Sports Complex, Satellite Town, Ojo. The CNS was represented by the Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters, Rear Adm. Kenneth Ezete.   The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his administration’s determination to harness Epe’s tourism and growth potentials through the provision of adequate infrastructure.  Mr Adeshina Odunuga, Director, Public Affairs, Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, said this in a statement on Friday  in Lagos.  NAF to improve military technology and weaponry through R&D programmes  Lagos, April 5, 2024  The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) on Thursday said that it would continue to intensify efforts locally in its Research and Development programmes in order to improve military technology and weaponry for modern warfare. The Chief of Standards and Evaluation, NAF, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Micheal Onyebashi said this during the Logistics Command, NAF 2024 Inter-units Research and Development (R&D) competition which held at 631 Aircrafts Maintenance Depot, Ikeja, Lagos. The R&D competition was with the theme: 'Building Air Power Capability Through Prioritisation Of R&D To Improve Logistics Support For NAF Operational Effectiveness '.  Navy discovers illegal fuel depot, arrests five suspects Lagos, April 4, 2024 The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT has discovered an illegal fuel depot with about 65,000 litres of Automotive Gasoline Oil (AGO) and arrested 5 suspects at No 3 Silver bird road, Ilasun, Lekki, Lagos. The Commander, NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Rafiu Oladejo in a statement signed on Wednesday by the Base spokesperson, Lt. Hussaini Ibrahim said that the discovery and arrest was made on Tuesday. Oladejo said that the total products discovered was about 65,000 litres of AGO, estimated to be N 89 million based on the current price of AGO (₦1,350).   NAOWA donates 391 eyeglasses to children in Lagos and Ogun Lagos, April 3, 2024 The Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) 81 Division Chapter in collaboration with Restore Foundation for Child Sight, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) on Wednesday donated 391 eyeglasses to school children in Lagos and Ogun. The NOAWA Chairperson, Mrs Rekiya Usman said that 314 eyes related drugs were also administration to school children in the Division's Area Of Responsibility. Usman said this at the donation exercise with the theme: 'School Eye Health Programme' which held at 81 Division Officers' Mess, Onikan, Lagos.  Spain Naval Ship visits Nigeria to improve bilateral relations  Lagos, April 3, 2024 The Spanish Naval Ship (SNS) BAM FUROR on Wednesday visited the Western Naval Command to continue to build and improve the bilateral relations between Nigeria and Spain. The Spanish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Juan Ignacio Sell said that Spain was part of the European Unions Coordinated Maritime presence with a view of preserving maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.
