39 Regular Course Donates Health Equipment To Navy Reference Hospital

 


The 39 Regular Course on Tuesday donated hospital equipment to the Nigerian Reference Hospital to improve health services to military personnel, their families and the society at large.

The wife of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Dr (Mrs) Ada Ajunwa and the wives of personnel of the course called the 39 Regular Course Angels, donated the  Ultrasound machine and the Diathermy machine.

These machines were donated to mark the 35th Anniversary of the 39 Regular Course scheduled for Sept.12 to Sept. 18 in Abuja.

Ajunwa said that the equipment were donated by the 39 Regular Course, their beloved husbands for the purpose of humanity.

"In Nigeria healthcare is one of our major area of focus because it has to do with rendering humanitarian services.

"So, donating medical equipment will help to better healthcare services. We are not just donating equipment here but also at the Navy Hospital in Kaduna as well," she said.

The GOC's wife said that the 35th Regular Course anniversary was aimed at commemorating the milestone and laudable experience and successes of the noble course.

"The organisation was created as a social welfare group with the intention of helping it's members and units in general.

"Since it's creation, it has assisted both serving and retiring members, orphans as well as military and civilian employees across the country," Ajunwa said.

Also speaking, the Surgeon Commander Chidiebere Anyanwu,who stood in for the Commander, Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital Ojo, Surgeon Captain Ahmadu Mohammed commended the gesture of the wives of the 39 Regular Course.

Anyanwu said that the ultrasound machine would be deployed to the maternity ward for easy first hand scanning of pregnant woman instead of moving them from the maternity room to the emergency centre.

"The machine will help to ascertain if it will be a cesarian session or delivery by vagina that we will be performing on the pregnant woman

"Also, the diathermy machine will help us minimise blood loss during surgery which will go a long way to shorten the operation time on patients," Anyanwu said.
