7th LaPRIGA: NIPR To Honour Industry’s Professionals With 'Hall of Fame’ Awards — Organisers


The organisers of the 7th Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA 2022) on Monday said it would honour its outstanding professionals with `Hall of Fame’ awards.

The LaPRIGA awards organised by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR)’s will be held Dec. 2

The Chairman, NIPR, Lagos branch Mrs Comfort Nwankwo on behalf of the Organising Committee, LaPRIGA 2022, during a press briefing at NIPR Secretariat, 19, Town Planning way, Ilupeju, Lagos said that the body was looking forward to the epoch event.

Nwankwo explained that the selection Committee had careful chose a unique theme for the 2022 edition which she it was an`Hall of Fame’ edition.

“We are pleased to announce that the theme for this year’s LaPRIGA is Hall of Fame which will be held on Friday Dec. 2, at D’Podium International Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.

“As the premiere Chapter of the Institute, this event is a prove of our commitment to continue to maintain leadership in professionalism and excellence.

“It promises to be a night of glamour, elegance, joy, class and celebrations exclusively for the communications industry with most influential stakeholders.

“The entries for this year’s award in the various categories has been encouraging,'” she said.

Nwankwo said that NIPR would also recognised relevant stakeholders in the sector with an incentive to motivate them to up their ante.

“We will be recognising Public Relations practitioners, stakeholders and organisations that have through their activities contributed to the essence of this profession and development of the industry.

“One of the highpoint of this year’s award will be the induction of previous winners of the PR Practitioner of the Year Category. This category is the numero uno of the LAPRIGA Award.

“Since inception, we have had six winners of that category. The 7th person will emerge at this year’s LAPRIGA.

“We are doing this to engender healthy competition among PR Practitioners. Any outstanding member of NIPR can win in this category,” she said.

Nwankwo noted that the Organising Committee of the LaPRIGA 2022 had been working tirelessly to make the event an epoch meeting.

“I want to appreciate the supports of individuals and organisations that are contributing towards the success of this event.

“I commend the efforts of the Excos, the members of the planning and selection committees headed by Victoria Uwadoka and Mr Chido Nwankama,” she said.

The Chairman Organising Committee, Nwankama told NAN that there were many incentives attractive enough to entice the practitioners in the sector to become professionals.

“Our body has already made provisions for the practitioners to become professionals by writing the NIPR examinations.

“The benefits of being a professional is limitless, which we don’t need to over-emphasize.

“Other professionals like ICAN, NMA, Stock Brokers have their different examinations to make their practitioners professionals, so do we, when people come in as professionals, they will reap the benefits,” he said.
