ADC Candidate Empowers 50 Youths In Ikorodu On Telecom Business

Mr Oladapo Moses, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Ikorodu Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly on Saturday trained and empowered no fewer than 50 youths and women in Ikorodu on Telecom business.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the empowerment was organised by Joint Association of Non-indigene (JANIN) and sponsored by Osmosis Campaign Organisation, supporting Moses' ambition.

Moses told newsmen during the empowerment that beneficiaries were selected through recommendations from each ward.

The candidate said that the beneficiaries were empowered to start Telecom business services with Glo, Airtel, 9mobile and MTN.

Participant who arrived early also got their wallet credited between 1k and 5k each once token was received.

Moses said: "At Osco, (Oladapo Moses Campaign Organisation), we believe it is better we empower our constituents. This is what we are used to do, not because of this election circle but because it is part of us.

"We believe when the people are empowered, they will not be running to politicians for 'little little things'.

"The politician can then face good governance and the people in turn will demand for result of governance. In what is seen as norms in most places."

According to him, plans are in top gear to empower many people in his constituency on different skills so that they would be independent with promise to continue on it if elected.

He said there were project directors on their team and very soon a fully rollout schedule would be available for his constituents to benefit.

He advised beneficiaries to ensure they judiciously make use of the opportunity given to them in order to be self reliant and be able to take care of their families.

"We have a series of empowerment lined up this campaign season and once we win, it will continue, empowering our people is a continuous program and will be scaled higher as time goes on.

" We have programs for the youths, women, men, primary and secondary school students, and in various sectors, we decided to start with this so as to encourage all little beginners.

"Recharge card business are like pure water used by everyone who has phone.

"You can start by crediting your wallet with as low as N100 and as much as any amount with profit from 3per cent to 5per cent  and presently, middle men are reduce to nill as business is directly registered with the telecoms," he said.
