Nigerian Army Trains Personnel To Enhance Optimal Performance

The Nigerian Army has organised a three-day training for its officers to equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge and strategies to improve leadership capacity and enhance optimal performance in the field.

The Special Guest of Honour and Commander, Corps of Supply and Transport, Maj.-Gen. Erema Akerejola, represented by Brig.-Gen. Williams Etuk said that the training was in line with the Chief Of Army Staff’s (COAS) vision, “to Have a Professional Nigerian Army Ready to Accomplish Assigned Mission Within A Joint Environment in Defence of Nigeria."

The three days training with theme: "Enhancing Operational Preparedness of Officers for Participation in Joint and Multi-agency Operations Within 81 Division AOR" started on May 9 to May 11 at the 9 Brigade Officers' Mess, Ikeja, Lagos.

Akerejola said that he was confident that each one of them had gained valuable insights and practical tips on how to improve tactical, operational, administrative and planning capacity.

"As officers, you play a vital role in the education and development of our soldiers who are often deployed in the field alongside personnel of other Services and agencies.

"I urge you to apply what you have learned here in your military career and indeed your personal life while also sharing your experiences with your colleagues," he said.

The commander appreciated the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division NA, Maj.-Gen. Obinna Ajunwa for organising the training week to help improve the quality of the NA officers.

Akerejola also appreciated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for its untiring effort in ensuring a hitch-free training week.

"I express my satisfaction to all the participants as well, for taking active part by way of comments, observations, contributions and suggestions.

"Your commitment towards this excellent training is commendable and it will reflect in the quality and standard of knowledge you will also share with others later in future.

"I wish all of you success in your military career and urge you to continue to strive for excellence in all you do," the commander said.

Akerejola said that the impact of the training would help shapen their future as well as improve operational and administrative output because "knowledge is power and knowledge births confidence."
