NAFOWA commissions ultra modern hall, ICT complex, creates thriving business environment



Lagos, March 2, 2024 

The National President, Nigerian Air Force Officers Wives Association (NAFOWA), Mrs Rakiya Abubakar on Friday commissioned an ultra modern event hall, shopping complex and ICT centre at the Sam Ethnan Airforce Base, Ikeja, Lagos State.

Abubakar in an interview with newsmen said that the projects would create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and also serve as an empowerment programme for women.

The complex contains 30 shops.

"As a firm believer in the efficacy of empowering women and the need to operate a conducive business space, it is gladdening to see the shopping complex is upgraded for the greater good of all.

"Aside from service to humanity, one of our many ethos as laid by our past discerning leaders is the penchant to keep changing lives and in this case via empowerment.

"Hence, the creation of this facility," she said.



Abubakar said that the commissioning of such projects would be a continuum because we are not relenting in bearing the trust by keeping the legacy.

"I charge each tenants, to follow the rules and guidelines as laid down through our supervisors in order to operate safely and thrive in this business environment," she said.



The president said that NAFOWA would not tolerate any form of lawlessness or disregard for the base authority.

"As much as we want you to succeed in business, we expect your total cooperation," she said.

Abubakar expressed her sincere thanks goes to the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar for the upgrade and unflinching support in making NAFOWA's goals a reality.

 Nigerian Navy trains 29 NIMASA personnel on the use of Maritime Awareness Capability system Lagos, March 9, 2024  The Nigerian Navy on Friday graduated 29 personnel of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on the use of Regional Maritime Awareness Capability (RMAC) system. ASUU-LASUED Awards Scholarships To 6 Indigent Dtudents

  The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Lagos State University of Education (ASUU-LASUED) Chapter, has awarded scholarships to six indigent students of the institution. The national union awarded N200,000, each, to two students – Oluwakemisola Ajetunmobi from  Physics Department and Iseoluwa Amusan from Primary Education Department. While, ASUU-LASUED branch gave the remaining four students N100,000 each. The beneficiaries are Opeyemi Oyetakin from  Mathematics Department, Abidemi Samuel, Physics Department; Ayishat Gbolahan, Entrepreneurship Department; and Olamide Abiola, Mathematics Department.
