The Chapel of Light, Lagos State University, Ojo, hosted the 2nd Quarter, 2024 edition of LASU Prays on *Wednesday, 8th May 2024* at the Chapel of Light Auditorium, LASU, main campus, Ojo. The one-hour prayer programme aimed to uplift prayers for the university, its management, staff, students, and stakeholders.

The event began with opening prayers led by Prof. Tosin Adu, the immediate past chaplain.

The soul-lifting praises and worship songs were beautifully rendered by the Chapel of Light, LASU Choir, under the leadership of Mrs. Iyanu Akindele-Obe, the choir mistress.

The Management Team was led by the DVC Administration, Prof. Adenike Omotunde Boyo, who represented the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM.

The Vice Chancellor was delighted to welcome members of clerics, staff and students for deeming it worthy to pray for our institution, LASU.

In her words, "Prayer is the key to make every meaningful success in life.

As leaders, we have responsibility of running the institution while Christ owns the ultimate control to take charge, reiterating the declaration I made in 2021", she averred.

The guest minister for the prayer programme was  the Zonal Pastor of RCCG, Lagos Province 30, Pastor Charles Smart,  He delivered an inspiring message, drawing on Bible readings from Luke 18:1-6, Rev. 1:3-6, Mark 5:7-20, Acts 12:5, and Ezekiel 12:1.

Pastor Smart fervently prayed for the well-being of LASU and its members.

During the sermon, Pastor Smart emphasised the importance of maintaining faith in God and remaining in a constant state of prayer. He reminded the congregation that without prayer, they would merely accompany others to their places of blessings, missing out on their own.

Prof. Pius Akhimien delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees.

Closing benediction was given by the Chaplain, Prof. Kunle Ogabi.

The LASU Prays programme was attended by members of the university management team, professors, staff, students, and friends of LASU.

The event served as a reminder of the significance of prayer in achieving meaningful success in life.
