 New NNS BEECROFT commander vows crackdown on maritime crimes   L) Commander, NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Paul Nimmyel with outgone Commander, Commodore Rafiu Oladejo   Lagos, Feb. 6, 2025 (NAN) The new Commander of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT, Commodore Paul Nimmyel, has warned pirates to abandon illegal activities, emphasising that tougher enforcement measures await them.   Nimmyel told newsmen on Thursday as he took over the command from the outgone Commander, Commodore Rafiu Oladejo at NNS BEECROFT, Apapa, Lagos State.   He thanked the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Vice Adm.   LASU matriculates 3000 diploma freshmen, warns against gangsterism  The Lagos State University (LASU) on Wednesday warned its students against gangsterism as it matriculated no fewer than 3,000 diploma freshmen. The Director, LASU Consult Ltd., Prof. Ibrahim Bakare, gave this warning during the matriculation of its newly admitted diploma students at the Femi Gbajabiamila Conference Hall, main campus, Ojo, Lagos. Bakare advised the students to stay away from acts that killed academic progression. “I have the incredible honour of reminding you not to lose focus in your determination to excel. Say no to gangsterism and say adequate no to any act that kills academic progression. “In everything you do, always think about diligence, excellence and hard work as these are attributes to success,” he said.
