Indian Navy Ship Tushil first foreign ship visiting Nigerian Navy in 2025

The Indian Navy Ship (INS) TUSHIL arrived in Lagos on Sunday for a flag-showing visit to Nigeria as well as the first Man O War ship to pay a port call to Lagos in 2025.

The spokesperson for the Western Naval Command, Cdr. Abdulrasheed Ahmed said this in a statement on Wednesday.

According to Ahmed INS TUSHIL is a Krivak III class stealth-guided missile frigate.

"It is on her maiden voyage from the launching port of Kaliningrad, Russia Federation, to Karwar, India, her home base," he said.



The spokesperson added that the Commanding Officer of the ship, Capt. Peter Varghese was formally welcomed by the Nigerian Navy party led by Capt. AA Raji 

He said that Ms Vartika Rawat, Ag High Commissioner of India in Nigeria and Col. Rowi Singh, Indian Defence Attache in Nigeria were also present.

Others at the reception ceremony were an Indian school in Lagos, students and some members of the Indian community in Lagos.
