NGO donates books, food items to 140 physically impaired students
First British Charity Home Foundation (FBCH), an NGO, in Lagos on Friday donated books and food items to more than 100 physically impaired students.
The Founder, Mr Evans Uchendu, presented the items to the students of Parcelli School of the Blind and partially sighted children in Surulere, Lagos.
He said that the donation was part of its effort to give back to society.
Uchendu, who led his team to the school, also called on kind-hearted and well-meaning Nigerians to come to the aid of those in need and the less privileged in the larger community.
He noted that the Foundation’s main purpose was to provide support, where necessary, in a bid to reduce the sufferings of the less privileged.
“FBCH is the realisation of a lifelong vision to give back and make a meaningful impact in the society.
“So, whatever we are doing today was driven by a profound sense of empathy, guided by personal values and deep commitment to social responsibility.
“This act of kindness aligns with the foundation’s mission to make a positive difference in the community.
“This donation is a testament to the foundation’s mission to helping uplift and empower the less privileged,” he said.
He added that the inspiration to donate to the particular school came from Sir Mobolaji Bank-Anthony who included the school among the beneficiaries of his estate.
“This made me inquire more about this particular school and I discovered that they had about 148 physically impaired students.
“This motivated me and my team to do what we are donating today,” he said.
He added that there would also be cash prizes for the children that would sing songs during the donation.
Items donated to the school include a bag of rice, drinks, foods, industrial grinding machine, among others.
