  Tinubu's pledge to Nigerian Legion impressive says state chairman  Lagos, June 9, 2024  The Chairman, Nigerian Legion, Lagos chapter, Mr Akeem Wolimoh on Sunday said that the legion experienced a massive financial pledge during the last Armed Forces Remembrance Day under President Bola Tinubu's administration. Wolimoh in an interview with a reporter in Lagos said that Tinubu approved N18 billion Group Life Assurance benefits and other entitlements to the families of fallen heroes.  MFM denies framing ex-members in alleged church robbery plot June 8, 2024 The leadership of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has debunked claims that it framed up ex-members of the church identified as Femi Jimoh and Caleb Oloruntele over an alleged planned attack against the church. This was as the three individuals who testified against the former members in court over the alleged act narrated how the duo approached them to solicit their assistance on how to hire a gun to rob the “first fruits” offering of the church in the year 2008. The individuals identified as Akeem Omojomolo, Tajudeen Usein, and Fatai Adebayo revealed how they played along in the plot, leading to their arrest. Jimoh had in an interview accused the church of being behind his imprisonment for nine years without trial, over alleged armed robbery.   Tinubu commissions warships, helicopters Lagos, May 31, 2024  The President of Nigeria, Mr Bola Tinubu has commissioned three Nigerian Navy (NN) warships, and two helicopters of the Nigerian Navy so as to maximise the benefits of the Blue Economy in the country. Tinubu also declared open the 2024 Nigerian Navy International Maritime Conference. The President was represented by Vice President, Kashim Shettima who also flagged off the Regional Maritime Exercise (REMEX) on May 30 at the Naval Dockyard, Victoria Island, Lagos State. These events were to commemorate the Nigerian Navy's 68th anniversary. The theme of the Conference was titled: “Promoting the Blue Economy in Africa through International Cooperation on Maritime Security”.   Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), has appealed to the university’s alumni to participate actively in the institution’s development for a monumental growth. Olatunji-Bello made the appeal on Monday at the Coconut Breaking  Festival of the university’s alumni association.  Nigerian Navy with 48 ships, fifth largest in Africa - CNS Lagos, June 3, 2024  The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Vice Adm. Emmanuel Ogalla has said that the Nigerian Navy had grown to be the fifth largest Navy in Africa with over 48 capital ships. Ogalla said this on Saturday at the Ceremonial Sunset which held at the Naval Dockyard, Victoria Island, Lagos State to end the week-long 68th Anniversary of the Nigerian Navy which began on May 24. He said tha the Nigerian Navy was proud of the tremendous achievements that it had made in the past 68 years. "We have grown to the extent that we have over 48 capital ships, and at all times more than 70 percent of these ships are operational.  Ekiti Govt. approves construction of cultural centre June 3, 2024 Ekiti State Executive Council has approved the proposal of the State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy to build a new arts and cultural centre.  Prof. Rasaki Ojo-Bakare, Ekiti State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos on Monday. Ojo-Bakare said that the professionally conceptualised and uniquely designed edifice is sited on a piece of land contiguous to the Old Water Works Ureje in Ado-Ekiti. "We are grateful to the Gov.
