Ekiti State Executive Council has approved the proposal of the State Ministry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy to build a new arts and cultural centre.

Prof. Rasaki Ojo-Bakare, Ekiti State Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos on Monday.

Ojo-Bakare said that the professionally conceptualised and uniquely designed edifice is sited on a piece of land contiguous to the Old Water Works Ureje in Ado-Ekiti.

"We are grateful to the Gov. Biodun Oyebanji, who is supporting us like a rock of Gilbratar. With the governor backing us, success is assured.

"We are building a real cultural village, not another usual glass house. This concept is unique and will attract visitors from all over the world".

"The contract is awarded to Messrs Adedokun Alade and Company led by a renowned Engineer, Mr Folusho Alade and is to be completed in seven months," he said.
