Beer Sectoral Group Launches ‘Don’t Drink And Drive’ Campaign

The Beer Sectoral Group (BSG) of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has launched its “2022 Don’t Drink and Drive” campaign to create awareness about dangers of drunk driving. The Chairman of BSG and Managing Director of Guinness Nigeria Plc, Mr Baker Magunda, during the launch of the campaign on Wednesday in Lagos, said that the initiative was targeted mainly for commercial drivers who convey lots of passengers. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the campaign is an initiative of the BSG in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). Magunda said that the ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’ campaign would be delivered through public enlightenment rallies at key motor parks in Nigeria. Sanwo-Olu Harps On Creative Leadership To Accelerate Growth

  Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Thursday said that Nigeria needed creative thinkers, planners and practical leaders to drive growth and development. The governor, represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Gboyega Akosile, made the assertion  at the 2022 Annual Conference and General Meeting of the Institute of Strategic Management, Nigeria (ISMN). 39 Regular Course Donates Health Equipment To Navy Reference Hospital

  The 39 Regular Course on Tuesday donated hospital equipment to the Nigerian Reference Hospital to improve health services to military personnel, their families and the society at large. The wife of the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Nigerian Army, Dr (Mrs) Ada Ajunwa and the wives of personnel of the course called the 39 Regular Course Angels, donated the  Ultrasound machine and the Diathermy machine. These machines were donated to mark the 35th Anniversary of the 39 Regular Course scheduled for Sept.12 to Sept. 18 in Abuja. Ajunwa said that the equipment were donated by the 39 Regular Course, their beloved husbands for the purpose of humanity. "In Nigeria healthcare is one of our major area of focus because it has to do with rendering humanitarian services. "So, donating medical equipment will help to better healthcare services. Council Boss Distributes Free 100 GCE Forms To Indigent Students In Ikorodu

  Mr Wasiu Adesina,Chairman, Ikorodu local Government, on Monday distributed free General Certificate of Examination(GCE) forms to 100 indigent students in Ikorodu division, with a promise to continue to assist the poor. Presenting the forms to beneficiaries at the council secretariat in Ikorodu,Adesina said the forms were a way of promoting education and empowering the youths of the area. He said the beneficiaries were selected from across all the wards in Ikorodu ,and that they emerged through a transparent process. “In addition to the free forms, the local government will also organise free coaching classes and will give cash awards to best three students in the exam that will be written after the programme “I am always happy supporting education because it provides an opportunity for one to contribute towards actualising the dreams and aspirations of many progressive youths. “As it is said, education is the only way to fight ignorance, backwardness, poverty, disease and stagnancy.

380 Million Lives Impacted Through Investment Programmes - Acumen West Africa

Teens Using Internet Without Supervision More Likely To Experience Cyberbullying- NGO

Aderonke Oyelakin, the Lagos State Coordinator, Child Protection Network (CPN) has says teens using the internet without supervision are more likely to experience cyberbullying. Oyelakin spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Wednesday on the sidelines of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) workshop themed “Content Inclusiveness in Digital Era”. She said the teens could also go into through depression from believing in everything they read on the internet or see in movies was always reality. The coordinator said that without any restrictions can cause them to misuse the sites and inflict emotional harm to themselves or others through cyberbullying.
