Thanksgiving: Council Boss Pledges To Prioritise Welfare Of Staff

 

The Ikorodu Local Government Chairman, Mr Wasiu Adesina, on Monday assured council staff members of his administration readiness to improve the welfare of all staff in the council.

Adesina gave the assurance during the Annual Thanksgiving Service to usher in the commencement of 2023 administrative calendar year, at the council secreteriat in Ikorodu, Lagos.

He said his administration is passionate about the welfare of the workers and promised to accord more priority on it for improve productivity and commended the revenue department for their hard work.

"It was indeed a great festival of joy in Ikorodu LG as it is necessary to put God first in everything you do in life.

"This thanksgiving service is an appreciation of God for last year’s success and commitment of this year’s activities into the hands of God.

"I assure you that the mantle of leadership bestowed on me will be for the goodness and development of our community.

"I inherited N5million as the revenue generation in a year but now, my administration increased the revenue from N5million to N125 million," he said.

The council boss appealed to residents to go and get their permanent voters card in preparation for the election as well as urged them to vote for the candidates of All Progressive Congress Party(APC) in the presidential, State and National Assembly positions.

Earlier, the clerics urged staff to love one another and work in oneness of moving the local government to an enviable height.

The Muslim cleric, Alhaji Shakirudeen Iradat, acknowledged that, the testimony from the members of the management team in the council is an indication that the  chairman is a very good personality and worthy to be honoured.

Also speaking, Pastor Femi Gilbert, urged the staff of the council to work with the chairman to ensure his administration delivers on his mandate to the people of his council area.

Also speaking, the chairman National Union of Local Government Employee ((NULGE) Ikorodu chapter, Mrs Adenike Mobodu, thanked the chairman for his gesture and appealed to him for more to enhance a robust relationship and effective service delivery.

The Council Manager, Engr. Martins Odupitan, also commended the chairman and promised that the council workers would work tirelessly to ensure the fulfilment of his mandate on more infrastructural projects aimed at improving economic activities and standard of living of the people of Ikorodu community.
