A Child care expert, Mrs Caroline Popoola, on Monday, called on government, educators and stakeholders to make early childhood education a global priority. Children’s Day: Group Trains School Children To Create Wealth From Waste

The Managing Director of NENIS Autos Care, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), Engr Mrs Osasoduwa Agboneni, on Friday urged Nigerian youths to key into recycling business to create wealth. Agboneni gave the advice during a  workshop  organised by NENIS  to celebrate Children’s Day at Egbin Power Station, Ikorodu, Lagos State. The workshop had the theme –  ”Waste to Wow: ‘Transforming Automotive Waste to Functional Art”.  70 students from seven schools  participated in the workshop. They were trained to use waste woods,  irons,  tyres and glasses to make wall mirrors and centre tables.   Mr Rume Ophi, the Executive Secretary of the Stakeholders in Blockchain Technology Association of Nigeria (SiBAN), has applauded the Federal Government for approving the National Blockchain Policy. Senate Affirms Dickson Akoh Owner Of Peace Corps Bill

  The Senate on Thursday affirmed the National Commandant of Peace Corps of Nigeria, Professor Dickson Akoh , as the owner of the bill , it along with the House of Representatives , legislated upon and transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent last month . The bill as stated in a statement signed by Senator Ali Ndume in his capacity as the sponsor in the Senate , seeks for an Act to establish the Nigerian Peace Corps which was accordingly considered , harmonised and adopted by the two chambers of the National Assembly. It also declared that any other group or individual , laying claim and parading itself as Nigerian Peace Corps , is illegal. Affirmation of Dickson Akoh led Peace Corps by the Senate as the authentic body that approached it and the House of Representatives for consideration and passage of the bill , arose from claims being made by one Mustapha that he is the owner of the bill . SECURITY: Kogi Vigilantes Rescue 134 Victims Kidnapped From FCT Councils

  Vigilantes in Kogi State have rescued 134 victims who were abducted from various parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).  The victims were rescued during the recent operations of the Kogi vigilantes in forests located in the state and some parts of Nasarawa State, a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kogi State, Onogwu Muhammed, said on Monday.  The vigilantes were said to have stormed the hideouts of kidnappers in the Odullo forest of Kogi and Sardauna in Nasarawa State, rescuing victims who were abducted from Abaji, Kuje, and Kwali in FCT, as well as Toto council area of Nasarawa.  Chairman of the Kogi/Koton Karfe Local Government Area, Dauda Aliyu, who received the rescued victims, commended the vigilantes for their bravery.  He also acknowledged the support of the state government for security operatives in the state.  The council boss ensured that the victims were properly reunited with their families in their respective LGAs.  About 92 vigila

  Airtel TV, an entertainment content streaming service, has awarded the winner of its first Super Skit-Maker contest with  N1million and a scholarship to Del-York Creative Academy. The Chief Commercial Officer, Airtel Nigeria, Mr Femi Oshinlaja announced the winners during the maiden edition of the contest at Airtel Headquarters, Ikoyi, Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the star award was followed by additional prizes to other winners and contestants.  The second and third-place winners were presented with cash prizes of N500,000, and N250,000, respectively, alongside film school scholarships to Del-York Creative Academy, a film school in Lagos.
