Viksit Bharat 2047: Indians in Nigeria reiterate commitment toward vision

  Support Lagos, Feb.19, 2024  The Commander Nigerian Army Corps of Signals, Maj.-Gen. Gbemiga Adeshina has thanked the Chief Of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja for his immense support to the achievements of the corps in the Year 2023. Adeshina gave this appreciation on Saturday during the Nigerian Army Signals West African Social Activities (WASA) for the Year 2023 which held at the Nigerian Army Signal Barracks parade ground Mile 2, Lagos State. Taoreed Lagbaja has assured officers, soldiers, and their families, that their welfare would continuously be a top priority in his leadership of the Nigerian Army (NA). The COAS added that the Nigerian Army was also expected to take delivery of helicopters, combat enablers as well as other force multipliers to effectively combat all criminal activities. Lagos, Feb.11, 2024 The Nigerian Army Education Corps Commander, Maj.-Gen. Bello Tsoho, said that the corps while celebrating the West African Social Activity (WASA) 2023 was also undergoing restructuring to improve the delivery of  education for qualitative purposes. Tsoho said this during the Nigerian Army Education Corps, WASA 2023 which held at Command Children School Sports ground, AN Barracks, Yaba, on Saturday. He said that part of the restructuring of the education system among others was that the class size in Army schools had been reduced to no more than 40 students per class. According to him, this is to improve the quality of learning and education in army schools nationwide. Lagos, Feb.11, 2024. The Nigerian Army Education Corps Commander, Maj.-Gen. Bello Tsoho has said that students have been reduced to not more than 40 per class to improve the quality of learning and education in army schools nationwide. Tsoho said this at the Nigerian Army Education Corps West African Social Activity (WASA) 2023 which held at Command Children School Sport ground, AN Barracks, Yaba on Saturday. He said that the policy was part of his blue print aimed at transforming the Nigerian Army Education sector since his assumption of duty as the corps commander ten months ago. "Specifically on the standard of education in the corps schools, we have been trying to look inward to see what we can do to improve them. "For instance, in all the corps schools in the country, you will not see more than 40 students per class.   The Senior Pastor, Foundation of Truth Assembly, Rev. Yomi Kasali, on Wednesday said he did not participate in the just concluded election of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) as reported. Kasali made this known at a news conference held in Surulere, Lagos.  TUC, FOBTOB hold protest against shutting down alcoholic sachet drink factories by NAFDAC Lagos, Feb.6, 2024  The Trade Union Congress (TUC) and Food, Beverages and Tobacco Senior Staff Association (FOBTOB) held a peaceful protest against the National Agency Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC) directive to shutdown companies manufacturing alcoholic sachet drinks. The protest held on Tuesday in front of NAFDAC office at Plot 1, Industrial Estate, Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Isolo, Lagos State. It can be recalled that NAFDAC in 2018 gave a directive to stop the production of alcohol in sachets and bottles below 200ml with effect from Jan. 31, 2024. Also, NAFDAC in January 2022 suspended the registration of alcoholic beverages in sachet and small volume PET and Glass bottles below 200ml. NGO Donates Learning Materials, Pays Pupils' Tuition Fees

  A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), First British Charity Home Foundation, has extended its charity work to 21 pupils by paying their school fees and distributing learning materials including books to them. The lucky children are pupils  of the Police Children School, Lagos. At the occasion, the founder of the NGO, Mr Evans Uchendu,  Uchendu said the aim of the gesture was to support the less privileged , stressing that every child deserved the best in life. “It is a passion that we got to assist the less privileged.
