PCN Lagos Commandant Appeals For Support Of LASG For Positive Engagement Of Youths
The Lagos State Commandant of Peace Corps of Nigeria (PCN), Pat. Kuforiji Olanrewaju Williams, has called for the suppoort of the Lagos State Government in carrying out its responsibilities, one of which is positively engaging youths.
The Commandant made the appeal when he and his entire team made an official visit to the ministry of Youth and Social Development to formally introduce himself.
The Lagos State Commandant Peace Corps of Nigeria Sincerely appreciated the leadership of the ministry especially the Directors for the support and assistance over the years.
He however appealed that the relationship between the organization and the Lagos State government ( Ministry of Youth and Social Development) be further strengthened.
The Lagos State Commandant made it known to the Leadership of the ministry that he has been briefed with the incidents of the activities of the regimes before him and pleaded for the support of the ministry for the organization to be involved in the programmes of the government, so that the Youths in Lagos State and Peace Corps officers in Lagos State can breathe the air of a New Dawn.
One of the Directors, Mr Ogunleye Olawale made mention of not being naive about the existence of Peace Corps of Nigeria.
Mr Ogunleye also suggested saying, Peace Corps in Lagos should be at the helms of affairs to give solutions to the youth unrest in Lagos State as it is a well structured organisation
The Directors for youth development, Mr Saka Lateef, advised the new Lagos State Commandant to work closely with the Ministry by getting it involved in their yearly programmes so as to work within the guidelines of the government.
Mr Lateef said that PCN Lagos State Command has a lot of opportunities in the state as the Ministry will try considering giving the organization chance to work closely with the ministry then made final decision to humbly request the invitation of the National Commandant Peace Corps of Nigeria to a meeting with the Ministry.
The Directors assured the Lagos State Commandant Peace Corps of Nigeria of their 100% support to Peace Corps Officers in Lagos State on employment in all Local Governments as they State that the National Commandant is a determinant factor.
