Jumia Celebrates 10 Years Milestone, Promises To Focus On Consumer Needs

The Chief Executive Officer of Jumia Nigeria, Mr Massimiliano Spalazzi, said that the company, in a bid to show commitment, would be focusing more on consumer needs and adapting to new demands in the market. Spalazzi made the remark during Jumia’s 10th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday at Victoria Island, Lagos. He said that due to the inflation in the country, it was necessary to consider consumers in the area of pricing by making products affordable. Spalazzi said that Jumia’s goal had always been to improve people’s lives through the internet and enabling their partners, vendors and logistics agencies to do better and do more business together with customers. Speaking on the company’s 10 years milestone, he said: “It is a real pleasure to be celebrating our first 10-year anniversary today, I am very proud and emotional about what we have achieved. “We started from a small house in Lekki and now we have expanded and happen to be one of the biggest e-commerce platforms in Nigeria.

Ekweremadu: Immigration Confirms Details On Organ Donor's Passport

The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) on Sunday, confirmed the aunthenticity of the passport of Mr David Nwamini, who was alleged to have been trafficked to the UK for organ harvest by former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu. The Comptroller General (CG) NIS, Mr Isa Jere made this confirmation to journalists in a Zoom meeting. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that information peddled on the social media alleged that Nwamini, a minor, 15, was trafficked by Ike and his wife, Beatrice, to transplant his (Nwamini) kidney into their daughter, Sonia.  Jere said that the service had investigated the matter and findings reveal that all information concerning Nwamini passed through appropriate sources before it was documented on his passport. "Mr Nwamini was captured on Nov. 2, 2021 at Gwagwalada Office, FCT where his Date Of Birth read Oct. 12, 2000, making him a 21 years old man.   Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf has expressed the readiness of the state government to partner with filmmakers in the diaspora. Akinbile Yusuf in a statement on Sunday said this was to produce world-class movies that will showcase the state and project it positively before the international community.  The Commissioner disclosed this while speaking during a roundtable discussion with filmmakers at Oxford University, United Kingdom. The experts made the call during a Waste Value Chain Tour at Elegushi Beach, Lekki where there was exhibition from innovators for the 2022 Looplab cohort and other exhibitors. The Nigerian Institute of Food, Science and Technology (NIFST) on Wednesday called for the use of appropriate technologies in food processing and preservation to tackle hunger, wastage and enhance economic development. Mr Frederick Popoola, the Chairman of NIFST Lagos Chapter, made the call during the 46th NIFST Day 2022 and the sixth Victoria Ojo Memorial Schools Debate held at Ikeja. The theme of the event was “The Role of Food Processing and Preservation in National Development”. He said that food processing and preservation played an integral part in ensuring that food do not go to waste, hence, the need to create more awareness to Nigerians. The PDP for Ajeromi-Ifelodun constituency wants it's mandate in Mr Francis Chima as House of Representatives who won the last primaries in May 22 before the elections were generally cancelled across the state. The party representatives said this at the rerun election which was cancelled again on Monday at Ajegunle Apapa LGA. The primaries for the local government's House of Representatives had been cancelled twice failing to produce a representative for it's constituency in the 2023 elections.
