Why Vehicles Have Short Life Span In Nigeria- Female Auto-Mechanic

The Managing Director, LadyBenz Auto-Mechanic Ltd., Joy Obi, has attributed the short life span of vehicles in Nigeria to poor maintenance culture. Obi spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sideline of a seminar organised by the Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE) in Lagos. The theme of the seminar was, “Vehicle Maintenance (Routine and Major Maintenance)’’. She that it was important for vehicles to be properly maintained to enhance their aesthetics and guarantee optimal performance. She said that lack of vehicle maintenance was one of the major causes of accidents on Nigerian roads. Obi said that, unfortunately, many vehicle owners and commercial drivers use engines without adhering to manufacturers’ maintenance instructions, adding that an average Nigerian does not pay attention to such details. Joint Security Forces Engage Notorious Criminal Pang In Kogi, Neutralise Leader

A joint security operation carried out by the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigeria Police, Department of State Services, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, on Thursday, launched a full-scale manhunt for a notorious criminal gang in Kogi State, led by one Kabir Bala.  Addressing a press conference at the headquarters of the Kogi State Police Command in Lokoja, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Akeem Yusuf, narrated how Bala, popularly known as Okwo and his gang members opened fire on a joint security team at about 4:30am on Thursday upon sighting the operatives.  Yusuf disclosed that the security team engaged the hoodlums, noting that Kabir Bala was neutralised in the process, while other members of his gang escaped with varying degrees of injuries. QNET Joins Forces With Authorities To Tackle Misrepresentation In Africa

QNET, a wellness e-commerce company, says it has taken decisive action to protect its customers by working with relevant authorities to apprehend scammers misrepresenting the brand in Nigeria. The company made this known in a statement on Friday in Lagos. Biram Fall, Regional Manager for QNET Sub-Saharan Africa, said that three reports under fraud allegations had been filed against the company. He said the reports were filed on Nov. 1, 2022, May 4, and May 19, respectively. The bank's audited full-year financial statement, submitted to the Nigeria Exchange Group Limited, revealed growth in various key performance indicators.  This growth was evident in areas such as interest income, loans and advances to customers, customer deposits, and overall profits. One notable highlight of the financial year was the significant growth in total comprehensive income, which soared by 262.1% to N1.2 billion compared to the corresponding period in 2021.
