NAFRC Commandant commends Naval Dockyard for the ability to build ships

The Commandant, Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) AVM Nnaemeka Ilo has commended the Naval Dockyard Ltd. for being able to build ships from scratch to finish.
Ilo made the commendation on Thursday as the Special Guest of Honour at the Naval Dockyard Ltd. Dinner and Award Night 2025 which held at the Naval Dockyard Ltd., Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The commandant who just took over the mantle of leadership from AVM Bashir Mamman said that he was marveled at the level of development as his first time at the Yard.
"It is my first time coming here and I what I see here reminds me of the power of teamwork, dedication and passion that drives humanity.
"If we as Nigerians can build a ship from scratch to finish, you can truly say that we are special people.
"And this can only be achieved through teamwork, cooperation and dedicated drive," he said.
The commandant commended the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Vice Adm. Idi Abbas and the dockyard team in ensuring that the Navy had a sustainable ship that would sail our waters.
"Your contributions have not gone unnoticed in any way and I am privileged to be a part of this celebration.
"We acknowledge excellence, recognise hard work and look forward to a brighter future tonight.
"What more can we ask than to give a big round of applause to the Chief of the Naval Staff," he said.
Ilo thanked and appreciate the almighty God for allowing us to see today and see the end of 2025 praying that by His special grace, we would make it to 2026.
He asked for the continued loyalty, support and determination from military personnel to see the armed forces to the next level in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
"We will continue to work together to ensure that the armed forces is taken to the next level," the commandant said.
The Admiral Superintendent Naval Dockyard, Rear Adm. Ibrahim Shehu said the year was filled with challenges that tested their resilience, reminding them of the power of teamwork, innovation and shared vision.
Shehu said each naval personnel played a vital role in the success story, stemming from the late nights and bold ideas to the quiet acts of dedication that never went unnoticed.
"So, tonight, we set aside the deadlines and targets to simply enjoy one another's company, reflect on our achievements and look forward to the opportunities ahead.
"Let us celebrate not only what we have accomplished, but also the spirit of unity and excellence that defines us," the admiral said.
Shehu appreciated the CNS for his immeasurable support in the provision of requisite equipment and facilities that had contributed significantly to the seamless operation at the Naval Dockyard.
